1966 "Sunny" Bobby Hebb



Dieser Song ist einer der weltweit bekanntesten Hits.
Bobby Hebb schrieb diesen Song, nachdem am 22. November 1963 President Kennedy ermordet wurde und Bobby's älterer Bruder Harold am selben Tag bei einer Messerstecherei in einem Nashville Nightclub getötet wurde. Er war erschüttert und in einem sehr deprimierten Zustand, einem seelischen Tief. Niemand weiß, ob er diesen Welthit je geschaffen hätte ohne in dieser Verfassung zu sein.
Er selbst sagte dieser Song handelte für ihn von einer "sonnigen", besseren Lage nach einer sehr deprimierenden, finsteren Situation. Es ist ein optimistischer Song der aussagt "Always look at the bright side" sagte er. Er wollte mit diesem Song an bessere Zeiten, die folgen, denken.

1966 begleitete Bobby Hebb die Beatles auf Tournee, woraufhin der Song sofort weltweit bekannt wurde.
